CUB Elections 2024
Board of Directors Election Term: 2024 - 2026
CUB seeks to fill its Board of Directors to serve for a two year term beginning September 1, 2024. Candidates, both new and incumbent, who are interested in running for a position should declare their interest to us by the deadline of July 19th, 2024. Eligible candidates will meet briefly with our election committee and we will announce all candidates by July 26th, 2024. Electronic voting will begin on August 2, 2024, and ends August 16th, 2024. Only members can vote.

ELIGIBILITY:
All candidates with the following requirements are eligible to run:
Parent of adoption loss (ie. birth/first parent)
Member in good standing for at least the immediate past six months
Commitment to the mission of CUB with a genuine interest in evolving and modernizing CUB
Comfortable being productive on a virtual team, timely and responsive with good initiative
Attend monthly board meetings on Zoom (up to 2 hours in length)
Working knowledge or familiarity with google apps (gmail, google calendar, google drive) or a willingness to learn (we will provide training and support)
POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:
PRESIDENT
Presides at all meetings of the Board of Directors or appoints an officer or other director to preside in his/her stead.
Appoints all committees, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors and is an ex-officio member of all committees.
Authorizes the payment of debts generated by the Corporation and together with the Treasurer may sign checks in payment thereof consistent with the annual budget and subsequent amendments thereto which have been approved by the Board of Directors or a committee appointed for this purpose.
Monitors the membership join and renewal rates.
Employs staff necessary to carry out the work of the Corporation with the approval of the Board of Directors.
VICE PRESIDENT
The Vice President shall work closely with the President and shall assist in carrying out all of the duties of the President.
SECRETARY
The secretary acts as the clerk of the Board of Directors with the following responsibilities:
Coordinates monthly Board of Directors meetings including scheduling, zoom link distribution, etc.
Takes minutes of the Board of Directors meetings
TREASURER
The treasurer acts as the accounting expert of the Board of Directors with the following responsibilities:
Oversees the receipt and deposit of revenues in such banks as designated by the Board of Directors
Facilitate the payment of any account payables requested
Keeps an accurate account of all funds received and disbursed
Reports on all activity monthly/quarterly/annually to the Board of Directors
Assures the filing of all financial forms and reports required by any governmental unit or agency
REGIONAL DIRECTORS
Regional directors serve as advisors to members in their regions, and serve as liaisons with the Board of Directors for these members.

Region 2: AL, DC, FL, GA, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA
Region 3: IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, OH, WI, WV, Canada: NA, NF, NS, ON, PE, PQ
Region 4: AR, IA, KS, LA, MO, NE, ND, OK, SD, TX, Canada-MB
Region 5: AK, CO, ID, MT, OR, UT, WA, WY; Canada, AB, BC, SK
Region 6: AZ, CA, HI, NM, NV, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand
